Bendigo four-year-old Streetcar Heaven made it two from two this prep at Kyneton on Monday with another all-the-way win in the $20,000 bet365 Class 1 Handicap (1112m).
The Kym Hann-trained son of Stryker, well backed to score an impressive all-the-way maiden win 17 days earlier at Swan Hill, dictated terms in front again from barrier one, scoring by three-quarters of a length.
Monday’s victory made it four wins from Hann’s past six starters but the first of 2017 to be ridden by stable apprentice Kassie Furness.
“I ride this horse in all his work and have a good relationship with him,” Furness said.”When you’re riding them day in, day out, your confidence in yourself is sky high.”
Despite a 3½-length romp the start prior, the four-year-old was sent around a $7 chance on Monday. He held off the challenge of $3 favourite Atomic Lokade, a recent runner-up at Moonee Valley.
Streetcar Heaven was bought for $30,000 as a yearling at the Adelaide Magic Millions sale. His dam, Streetcar Stella, sold as a broodmare at the 2015 Great Southern sale for $125,000.
Streetcar Heaven has had six starts for two wins, a third and $30,505.
